The uncertainty that has grown rapidly over recent days regarding Kylian Mbappé's future has generated a sense of déjà vu with respect to what happened in 2022, although with the main difference that in France they are expectant of the PSG player’s departure at the end of the season.

AS understands that the sums of money wanted by the captain of the French national team, in the event that his departure from Paris is confirmed, are lower than those currently perceived in the French capital, but are still nose-bleed worthy.

How much would Kylian Mbappé earn at Real Madrid?

The striker wants to receive a salary of €50 million gross, €25m net, with a signing bonus of €120 million to which Madrid must add various bonuses and add-ons focused mainly on image rights, a key point in his 2022 renewal.

The salary currently obtained by Mbappé, after the renewal in May 2022, sees him earn €72 million gross, a bonus of €130 million for stamping the renewal signature and increasing bonuses for each year he remains in Paris. PSG owed Mbappé €70m in the first year, which has already been paid.

On top of that, he was due a payment of €80m, but the deal he agreed with Al Khelaïfi in August saw that money pardoned. Finally, he would have been in line to receive €90m if he had executed the unilateral renewal clause until 2025, but that option was dead in the water the moment he sent the famous letter to the PSG headquarters in June 2023.

The former Monaco player has a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with Al Khelaïfi, whereby he will inform the Qatari before anyone else regarding his future. PSG, despite what was reported by Le Parisien, remain silent and are awaiting such a notification, sooner rather than later, from the club’s all-time top scorer.

What is clear is that the Parisians are the only team that can financially improve the claims of Mbappé, but will not negotiate, according to sources consulted, above what was agreed in May two years ago. If Mbappé stays, he will earn his €72 million. If he leaves, he will earn less, but play for Real Madrid.
