The return of Kroos control at Real Madrid is getting closer

Toni Kroos’ return to Los Blancos has nothing to do with the new manager and, with initial contact already made, it’s believed it could become a reality in the coming days.

Toni Kroos’ return is moving closer to becoming a genuine reality. His comeback to Real Madrid has nothing to do with the future occupant of the club’s bench. It is a completely separate matter, moving along a different track from any negotiations that may take place with any coach.

Weeks ago, Florentino Pérez decided the time had come to start shaping the return of one of the main symbols of the team that dominated Europe, winning six Champions League titles in 10 years. From that moment, Real Madrid began working on the comeback of a player who left a lasting mark over his decade in white.

Kroos became a reference point and an example for Madrid fans and for many rivals, which explains the club hierarchy’s interest in recovering a figure who managed to unite everyone through his quality as a footballer and his composure both on and off the field. The first approaches have already taken place, and at Valdebebas they believe the possibility of bringing back the former midfielder could become reality in the coming days.

The 2014 World Cup winner with Germany has devoted himself fully to the football academy he set up since hanging up his boots. In fact, during the season he has been seen on several occasions at Madrid’s training complex with his different youth teams. He acts as a leader, coach and teacher, passing on to the youngest players his way of understanding the game.

In recent days, there has been talk that Kroos’ arrival would be linked to Jürgen Klopp. Not so. The starting point for the desire to see the former Madrid player back in day-to-day life at Valdebebas predates the decision to make a coaching change. His arrival is aimed more at strengthening the group of former players who work for the club.

So much so that no decision has been made at any point on what position Kroos would occupy or what his role would be in his increasingly likely return to Real Madrid. It has been suggested he could form a potential duo with the former Liverpool coach if Klopp were chosen as manager for next season. The only certainty is that the desire, interest and momentum behind Kroos’ return to Madrid continue to move forward.
