USMNT forward Timothy Weah is set to move to Juventus and has already had his medical with the Italian giants. The striker, who is still just 23-years-old, is leaving northern France for northern Italy in a move that will be part of a revamp of the Juventus squad, who finished 7th in the division last season.

Timothy Weah’s rise to prominence has been well documented if not prolific. The winger is the son of George Weah, former Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year winner. However, Timothy has not yet had the success of his father: his leap from the PSG academy to the first team only brought with it 5 appearances and one goal.

What position will Weah play at Juventus?

Despite the lack of minutes and poor return rate, Weah still stood out for his ability and secured a move to Celtic on loan, where he scored 3 in 13 for the Scottish side. A permanent switch came next for the player who moved to Lille, where he has amassed just 6 goals in 89 appearances. He was called up to the senior national team in 2018, and has managed 4 goals in over 30 games for the Stars and Stripes.

Weah, although many see him as an attacker, can play in almost any position on the right side of the pitch, and even as a wing-back. If Allegri is to stay at the club then he will have a young, hungry, versatile player in his squad who is still looking to make a name for himself in Europe, not unlike other young USMNT internationals such as Brenden Aaronson (Leeds) and Folarin Balogun (Arsenal).

How much did Juventus pay for Weah? What salary is he on?

While an exact figure is unknown, most numbers are around the €12 million mark, which is not a huge outlay for such a young player with a bright future. The same can be said for his salary: while contract details are rarely revealed, most estimates suggest that Weah is set to earn something in the region of €2 million per year at his new home.
