Nagelsmann on City tie:
"It's a good and tough draw. Nobody can say we've had an easy draw if we win the title. We had a difficult group, then PSG and now City. Our potential semi-final would be tricky too. I'm really excited by the draw."
Good morning, indeed, Napoli
Top of Serie A and European quarter-finalists.
I bet it's really sunny in Naples, as well. Just to make me even more jealous.

Yes, it appears as though Batman has finally found The Joker, the one thing he cannot get the better of. This is not a statistical accident or a slip of a button on someone's computer, The Sofascore boffins physically can't do that.
Out of 7 games played against the German giants, Haaland has not won any.
In fact, he has lost all 7!
Ah, Real Madrid vs Chelsea. Such yummy football.
But who has the better record? Check out this piece on how the two sides have fared against each other over the years - it's more surprising than you might think.

Zoltán Gera is here!
A Europa League finalist with Fulham in 2010.
"I think everyone is so excited and satisfied. I think you need a good squad who work for the team, with 11 or 13 players you can't win anything."
"When you have a chance to play, you have to be ready to be there and to sacrifice. You need 20 players, at least, to reach a final."
UEFA Deputy General Secretary Georgio Marchetti is back on stage. Déjà vu, anyone?
We've got another video of all the teams that remain in the competition...
Pedro Pinto is back, introducing us to things.
Here we go! The Europa League quarter-final draw is coming up now!
Just quickly, in case you're interested, here is a breakdown of all the info regarding the Champions League quarter-final draw, including the how, where and when of all the games. One to bookmark.
Here are the rules:
At this stage of the competition, "no teams are seeded and there is no country protection", says the UEFA website.
The draw is pretty much identical to the Champions League one: the home team comes out first and the away team second, and so on.
The same goes for the semi-finals and final bracket.
Ten minutes to go!
I hope you have some popcorn left after the Champions League draw...
Erik Ten Hag's Manchester United got through to the final 8 by beating Real Betis 1-5 over 2 legs.

Inter are up against more Portuguese opposition after beating Porto in the previous knockout round. As for Benfica, they may be happy to have avoided one of the huge hitters in the competition - and who wouldn't want a trip to Milan?

Here we go! Time for the draw!
Marchetti reminds us that this is a completely open draw...
Time for Patrick Kluivert! The winner of the 1995 Champions League with Ajax.
Pedro Pinto, in something of a fanboy moment, asks Patrick about the 1995 UCL final.
"It was fantastic, I was very young and it was quite new for me. I was happy to be the youngest scorer in the Champions League final."
"All the teams that have qualified are great, if I had to pick then it would be Napoli."
Altintop is so eager that his hands are twitching to get going... so are mine. But first, more questions.
He says "I'm enjoying being part of the draw. Thank you to UEFA on behalf of my people for the support and solidarity. Keep your support please."
"You have to prepare really well for the knockout round. It's about mentality, experience and being on top at the right time."
"It will be a great experience to have the final in Turkey. The people are friendly and the food is good."
Here comes Georgio Marchetti, the UEFA Deputy General Secretary... he's talking about Leo Messi and Erling Haaland.
And now Hamit Altintop walks on stage after a video montage of his Champions League highlights.
Now we are being treated to a special montage of what's happened so far in the tournament. Goals, goals, goals. 342 of them, in fact (we don't get to watch them all now).
Pedro Pinto is the host, as usual. He's a lovely man. Giving us a nice little introduction here, basically saying how great everything is.

The current champions are ready to go!
Their previous quarter final opponents have been difficult to say the least, but they haven't lost in this round since2004.
They have played Tottenham, ApoelNicosia, Galatasaray, BorussiaDortmund, AtléticoMadrid, Wolfsburg, Bayern, Juventus, Liverpool and Chelsea.
Who do you think Real Madrid will get this time?

Ten minute warning!
Grab your popcorn or snack of choice and get ready... the draw is coming up any time now!
And the answer is...
Roberto Di Matteo!
The then-caretaker manager led Chelsea past Napoli and Bayern Munich to claim a famous victory in Europe, and Chelsea's first UEFA Champions League in their history.
Did you get it right?
Is Osimhen the best striker in Europe?
Have your own opinion (as you'll be thinking of Haaland), but let's leave the Monster Boy aside for a moment and take a look at Napoli's star player, Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian forward has lit up Serie A and continental football in general as the leading light in Europe's sexiest side. He has 19 goals in 22 games and looks to be a threat from all areas: his range of skills and abilities on and off the ball makes him a deadly player and one who could make the difference for the Italian side in the Champions League this season.
Quiz time!
Chelsea won the Champions League in 2020-21 with Tommy Tuchel, which was the second time they lifted the trophy.
The first was back in 2011-12, but who was their manager?

How it works in terms of the semi-final:
It's quite easy:
For the semi-final draw, four balls containing the words 'Winners of quarter-final 1' to 'Winners of quarter-final 4' are placed in a large bowl and mixed together.
The first and second balls drawn determine the first semi-final pairing and the procedure is repeated with the remaining balls to complete the semi-final draw.
Here's what Jürgen Klopp said about the favourites for the Champions League. No surprises who he chose but given the fact that he's played against City and Madrid over the past few seasons more times than I've managed to wash my hair (this is a joke) then I suppose he's the best person to listen to.
Not long to go now!
Just over half an hour before the draw begins!
Ex-Real Madrid and Bayern midfielder, Hamit Altintop, will help to conduct the draw today. Patrick Kluivert is also a guest at the draw. A lovely couple.
Sofascore with the goods...
No prizes for guessing who is the top-rated player of the Round of 16, but it's nice to see such results below Haaland. Kimmichisin secondplace after his performances against Messi and co.
DeBruyne is there, are one would imagine, as is Fede Valverde. André Onana makes it onto the list for strong goalkeeping performances against Porto, where they got through 1-0 after 2 games.

AC Milan in the UCL:
Milan came second in their group after avoiding defeat every game except against Chelsea, where they lost twice. RBSalzburg and Dinamo Zagreb were no match for the Serie A champions this season and they comfortably made it through the opening round with 10 points from a possible 15.
In the Round of 16, they came up against Spurs, who are potentially the most frustrating and confusing thing to exist this season since, well, Spurs every season. The London side were beaten 1-0 in Italy before playing out a strange 0-0 draw in England in which Milan seemed (and quite rightly so) content to keep things the way they were. Luckily for us, however, the teams that remain in the tournament will 100% give them a tougher test.
Here's the Monster Boy...
Monster Boy has scored 38 goals in all competitions for City, and as such has broken another record at the club. In the Champions League, Manchester City, surprisingly, came top! They went unbeaten against Dortmund, Sevilla and Copenhagen, scoring just 14 goals in 6 games and conceding 2.
In the next round, they had a tough-fought 1-1 draw against RB Leipzig. In the second round, back at the Etihad, well... he went crazy. They won 7 (seven) -0 with Haaland scoring 5 goals in around an hour of football. Safe to say, then, that these guys (along with Napoli) is the bogey team for anyone.

Who is the most fun team in all the land?
Well, it's Napoli. And I was going to do the previews in alphabetical order then I realised I was too excited to say that this the first time Napoli have ever reached this stage of the competition!
And what a way they have done it: Napoli beat Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers in an extremely tricky group to come top and then they took on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Round of 16. I would now normally say something like 'oh, poor Eintracht', but it was such fun that I'm not going to. Napoli destroyed them 5-0 over two games and became the highest goal scorers in the tournament. And they're just a big blue box of fun, did I mention?

Inter's story in Europe:
Inter, if you've got a keen eye and remember from earlier on, were in a group with Bayern, FCBarcelona and ViktoriaPlzen.
They managed to pip Barça to the top 2 by going unbeaten against Xavi's side, winning 1-0 at home and drawing a ludicrously entertaining game at Camp Nou 3-3.
Remember Gerard Piqué? That was the game in which he signalled to the defence not to go for a cross without realising Barella was behind him and onside to score.
After that, they came up against a tough Porto side, and managed to get through 1-0 over two legs after some solid defensive performances both home and away.
Chelsea: the story so far
Graham Potter has had the opportunity of the Champions League to allow himself some breathing space from the frankly terrible Premier League form his side has seen over the course of the season.
In Europe they overcame RBSalzburg, ACMilan and DinamoZagreb in the group stages, finishing top and losing just once. After that, they had the tricky task of coming back to Stamford Bridge and overturning a 1-0 deficit against Borussia Dortmund. Luckily for The Blues, they managed to do so with goals from Sterling and Havertz.
Real Madrid's run in the 22/23 UCL
Speaking of Vini Jr. and Real Madrid, here's how Madrid made it to the Quarter-finals:
They beat Celtic, RB Leipzig and Shakhtar in a group that one think of as 3 potential banana skins, at least before you realise it's Real Madrid and they simply must win.
After that they came across Liverpool, who are having a wobbly season, to put it mildly. The first leg was a crazy, crazy game and the second one was more relaxed: we were actually able to watch it rather than be dragged into another Madrid/UCL heart-rate exam like we're used to.
UCL top scorer's list so far:
No surprises here for who gets number one spot: the monster boy, again. And he's got a chance to pull away from the trailing pack, too, as poor Salah and Mbappé won't have the chance to add to their numbers again this season.
In second place of the list of remaining players, Vinicius with 6 UCL goals really shows the pressure he is taking on his shoulders in the absence of a 100% fit Benzema.
Cargando...
Benfica's UCL story:
Benfica are arguablythe surprise package of the tournament (sorry, Napoli), as they beat PSG and Juventus to top spot in the group stage, going unbeaten and only dropping points twice.
They took on Club Brugge in the round of 16 and absolutely wiped the floor with them, the poor Belgians, winning7-1 on aggregate. Ouch.
Bayern's UEFA Champions League story so far:
Bayern had an incredibly difficult group but still managed to get through, beating Inter, Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen to first place. They breezed through the first round without dropping a single point and conceding just 2 goals.
PSG came along in the next round, with their scary attacking trio of Messi, Neymar and Mbappé. But Bayern didn't flinch and put them to the sword, winning 3-0 on aggregate. I hope you didn't laugh at PSG...
How will the draw work?
It is a completely open draw: there are no seeds or pre-determined places. Clubs of the same nation can indeed play against each other as of this moment.
This draw also determines the bracket for the rest of the tournament; not only will the quarter-final opponents be decided today, but the structure of the rest of the competition.
This year’s Champions League final is to be held at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul on 10 June.
Here are the teams in question...
-BayernMunich
- Benfica
- Chelsea
- Inter
- ManchesterCity
- ACMilan
- Napoli
