Canada and United States will contest the final of the Concacaf Nations League after having put away Panama and Mexico respectively. Now, they will seek to be crowned champions in Las Vegas and we thought we’d look at the perceived value of the two squads.

Canada, thanks to unanswered goals from Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies, overcame Panama to reach the final and go into the game against their southern neighbors as slight underdogs. The US had a pretty rough encounter with Mexico but won 3-0, a brace from Christian Pulisic and another from Ricardo Pepi leaving El Tri to fight it out for third place.

Much is expected from this final at Allegiant Stadium.

United States vs Canada: player values compared

The Canadian national team is worth a combined 215 million dollars, according to the transfermarkt platform, with Alphonso Davies the most expensive. The Bayern man has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, who are aiming to build a formidable team for next season.

Canada’s most expensive players

  1. Alphonso Davies - 22 years old - Bayern Munich - $77 million
  2. Jonathan David  - 23 years old - LOSC Lille -  $66 million
  3. Stephen Eustaquio - 26 years old - Porto - $13 million
  4. Tajon Buchanan - 24 years old - Club Bruges - $11 million
  5. Ismael Koné  - 21 years old - Watford FC - $11 million

Meanwhile, the US team is worth a combined 292 million dollars, according to the transfer website, with Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic being their best valued footballer on the market.

Time will tell but Balogun, the new jewel of the USMNT having decided to represent them over England, is expected to grow in value quickly over the coming years.

USMNT’s most expensive players

  1. Christian Pulisic - 24 years old - Chesea FC - $35
  2. Brendon Aaronson - 22 years old - Leeds United - $33 million
