The Chivas goalkeeper made it clear that América is a rival that you have to beat wherever you go, in any division.

Chivas goalkeeper Miguel Jiménez knows perfectly well that the Clásicos are games that are completely different from others. You live, you feel, you play with passion and, above all, you win it no matter what. Against América, in the Clásico de México, you face a rival that you have to beat, no matter where.

Jiménez talks América vs Chivas

“It’s the team you always want to beat, wherever you run into it, in third, second or first divisions. They add the idea that the Clásicos are not played, they are won. It is the Clásico de México that all the people are waiting for and the victory will stay here at home,” he commented in an interview for TUDN.

“You get to the Clásico, you see the América shirt and the only thing you want is to beat it, give it your all, fight for every ball. Both teams will give their all, because it’s a game you want to win.”

Favoritism is something that Chivas counts on this time, because they play at home and in front of their people, unlike the last tournament where they visited the Azteca Stadium, leaving the Mexican capital with a defeat.

“We are favorites because we are at home, with our people. We want to give them that victory. The team is committed, focused, fine-tuning details. We are going to give it our best effort, give one hundred percent and it will be a good match.”
