West Ham United host local rivals Chelsea in a West London derby on Sunday, 20 August. Both teams started their Premier League campaigns with a 1-1 draw and they will be eager to get their first victory of the season at the London Stadium this weekend.
The Hammers were held by Bournemouth in their opening fixture and looked a little lost without the presence of former captain Declan Rice in the middle of the pitch. A deal for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire appears to have fallen through but James Ward-Prowse should be available after his £30 million ($38m) move from Southampton.
The Blues began their season with a decent point against Liverpool last weekend and have managed to strengthen their team since then. Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia have arrived at Stamford Bridge in recent days for a combined £170 million ($216m) to bolster Chelsea’s midfield options. Caicedo will likely come straight into the team for the trip to West Ham.
