FIFA has announced the US cities that will host next summer’s Club World Cup, which will feature 32 teams for the first time.

FIFA has announced the venues for the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States - the first edition of the tournament to be played in an expanded, 32-team format.

Which cities have been chosen for 2025 CWC?

The revamped global competition is to be held in Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, Orlando (two stadiums), New York-New Jersey, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington, DC. World soccer’s governing body had initially planned to use fewer venues, but has finally settled on an extended list of host arenas after reaching agreements with a number of additional locations.

Where will the final be played?

MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, has been chosen as the venue for the Club World Cup final. Twelve months later, the stadium will also stage the trophy decider of the 2026 national-team World Cup, which the US is to co-host with Canada and Mexico.

The 2025 Club World Cup is to begin on Sunday June 15, with the final scheduled for Sunday July 13.

FIFA favours east over west

Most of the Club World Cup host cities - eight out of 12 - are on the east coast. This, in no small part, is a scheduling decision: games played in the Eastern Time zone are significantly more convenient for Europe-based television viewers than those held on the west coast. FIFA is mindful that this is a key consideration when it comes to selling the TV rights on the Old Continent.
