LALIGA SANTANDER
What did Vinicius say to the referee during the LaLiga Santander game against Osasuna?
The Brazilian from Real Madrid criticised a foul on Munuera Montero that the referee did not give, instead ruling a throw-in in favour of Osasuna.
Poor Vinicius Júnior has been thrust in the spotlight again, just like every other day over the last few weeks and the Brazilian once again started the day with his face on the front pages. With Real Madrid and Osasuna battled it out at El Sadar, Los Blancos’s number 20 had his ups and downs, both with the players of Jagoba Arrasate’s team and with the referee, Munuera Montero.
More detail:
Vini’s angry reaction
In the 33rd minute of the game, the ball was in play near the sideline, with Vinicius and Moi Gómez fighting for possession. The Real Madrid attacker was brought down and questioned the referee as to why a foul was not given, but Munuera Montero did not consider his approach and instead ruled a throw-in to Osasuna. Immediately after Vinicius realised the decision was not going his way, he was seen making angry gestures in response, quickly turning around and shouting: “Go f*ck yourself, you’re a son of a b*tch”.

Vinicius Junior abused by fans yet again
It was not the only horrible image of the match, as during the minute of silence held in remembrance of the victims of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria, the DAZN cameras were able to pick up the sound of an Osasuna fan in the stands shouting “Vinicius, son of a b*tch!” It is not known if the fan has since been punished by the club for his actions of hate towards a player that simply cannot catch a break this year.
Real Madrid now sit on 51 points, 5 behind Barcelona before they face Cádiz on Sunday 19 February.
