There is more injury concern for Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelloti after another player suffered an injury on Tuesday.

Brahim Diaz was forced off towards the end of the Champions League first leg game against RB Leipzig. The Spanish international pulled up on the ball and appeared to be holding his calf as he was helped from the field.

Madrid went on to win the game 1-0, putting them in the driving seat for this two-legged tie, but the injury to Diaz could cause headaches for Ancelotti.

The 24-year-old opened the scoring for Madrid with a fine curling effort shortly after halftime. He has impressed in patches this season after his loan spell with AC Milan ended last summer.

Who is on the Real Madrid injury list?

The injury to Diaz comes at an unfortunate time for the Spaniard, who was expected to get more game time for Los Blancos due to an injury to Jude Bellingham in last weekend’s victory over Girona. Madrid are in the midst of an injury crisis with a number of players also unavailable to Ancelloti and the games starting to pile up as the Champions League returns.

Key defenders Eder Militao and David Alaba both suffered tears to the cruciate ligament earlier this season. Militao could be eased back into the team sometime next month, but Alaba looks very unlikely to feature again this season.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is also working his way back from a cruciate ligament tear he sustained last August. He too may struggle to return to the team before the end of the campaign.

Bellingham’s injury, at least, looks less serious. The Englishman sprained his ankle in his two-goal performance against Girona and is expected to miss three weeks of action for Madrid.
