Las Vegas, and nothing less than a Clásico match on US soil, offers Americans the opportunity to see Real Madrid in action for the first time in the 2022-2023 season. This represent the unveiling of the Project Sextuplet as well as the defense of the Spanish League, Champions League, and Spanish Super Cup titles. After two weeks of preseason matches between Real Madrid and Los Angeles, the Allegiant Stadium in Sin City hosts the coming-out party of Ancelotti’s team.
This is the confirmed starting line-up for Real Madrid: Courtois; Lucas Vázquez, Rüdiger, Militao, Alaba; Valverde, Tchouaméni , Camavinga; Rodrygo, Hazard and Vinícius.
A first test for Real Madrid and it will be exactly that, a test. And time management. The starting eleven who are lined up by Madrid’s coach will look nothing like the one that sees out the end of the match against the Catalans. Perhaps not even the same as the one who walks out of the locker room. It is all a hypothesis. What is almost certain is that you will be able to see the only two signings the European champions have taken on as reinforcements, Rüdiger and Tchouameni. In the inevitable carousel of changes that will take place during the game, it is not a matter of forcing the issue, since a decent handful of the 27 members of the players in white will have every chance to impress. Perhaps, however, it is an opportunity to see Hazard in the 9 spot, where Ancelotti is trying to force him to be a replacement for Benzema. The Frenchman, who barely had four training sessions under his belt, has stayed in Los Angeles with the injured Carvajal. Ancelotti has only taken two true 9s to Las Vegas, Mariano and Latasa, so it could be the first time to see the Belgian wonder playing up top.
The preseason has already claimed its first victim in Carvajal, who suffered a slight ankle sprain on Thursday that will prevent him from starting. That same day Hazard gave us a scare, when he did not complete one of the training sessions due to muscular overload. The Belgian returned to training on Friday, however, and will play the Clásico.
Real Madrid’s starting line-up in the friendly against Barcelona
With all the doubts and precautions on the table, the possible starting eleven Ancelotti has for the Clasico against Barcelona in Las Vegas is made up of: Courtois, Odriozola, Militao, Rüdiger, Alaba; Ceballos, Tchouameni, Kroos; Rodrygo, Mariano and Vinicius.
Ancelotti has taken 28 players on this tour of the United States, 26 of whom have travelled to Las Vegas: Lunin, Luis López, Lucas Cañizares, Lucas Vázquez, Vinicius Tobías, Nacho, Vallejo, Mendy, Casemiro, Modric , Camavinga, Valverde, Asensio, Hazard and Latasa. Carvajal and Benzema stayed behind at the team’s headquarters in Los Angeles, where Mayoral is scheduled to arrive a couple of hours before the game to join the tour, once he overcomes the problems with the vaccination deadlines required by the US authorities which prevented him from travelling to the United States with the rest of the team last Tuesday.
