In comparison to previous World Cups, the number of Mexican fans traveling to Qatar in 2022 is expected to be the highest of any Latin American country.

Mexico, which will play Poland, Argentina, and Saudi Arabia in the World Cup, was ranked sixth in ticket sales one month before the tournament began and second in Hospitality package sales, behind only local fans in Qatar 2022.

Colin Smith, general director of FIFA tournaments and events, said, “There are 240 thousand packages sold, 60 percent for international, that allows us a global opening, and 37 percent are local.”

Ahead of nations like the United States, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and India, Mexico is the second-most frequent buyer of the hospitality package.

Package prices range from $950 to $4,950, which grants entry to the stadiums and other VIP areas.

As for tickets, Qatar is the nation that has purchased the most tickets for World Cup matches, followed by the United States, Saudi Arabia, England, and Mexico coming in fifth place

The match between the Mexican national team and Argentina’s national team has been the one that has generated the most interest.

More than 100,000 Mexican fans are being estimated, we are going to have assistance of all kinds and what worries me the most is following the rules, that whoever is going to attend has proper behavior,” said the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrard, last Saturday

México fans have always been big spenders in the World Cup tournaments. In Brazil in 2014, they ranked among the top 5 to purchase game tickets, a feat they repeated in Russia in 2018 and now again in Qatar in 2022
