Madrid. Update:

The Modrić story is entering a new chapter. A new name from Luka Modrić’s family is beginning to emerge in soccer, and Italy is taking notice of Ema Modrić (born 2013), the eldest daughter of the former Real Madrid star.

Who is Ema Modrić?

Ema recently helped AC Milan’s U-13 team win the Coppa Garino, a youth tournament held last weekend in Turin, where she played a key role throughout the competition.

In the final, played Monday, AC Milan defeated Juventus to secure the trophy. In the semifinals, Milan’s U-13 side beat Inter Milan 2-0.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, Ema also made her mark on the scoresheet, netting a goal in a 3-1 win over Sassuolo. Her performances throughout the tournament ensured her name stood out among the top young talents on display.

From Madrid CFF to AC Milan

Ema Modrić was already developing her game in Spain before her family relocated to Italy following Luka Modrić’s move to AC Milan.

During her time in Madrid, she played for Madrid CFF, one of the Spanish capital’s key clubs for developing young female talent. The club has a strong reputation for youth development and has produced players such as Vicky López, who later joined Barcelona.

Unlike other top clubs, Real Madrid does not currently operate a traditional girls’ academy structure, making Madrid CFF a natural pathway for young players like Ema to progress and stand out.

Luka Modrić watches via FaceTime

Luka Modrić followed his daughter’s cup final from distance while on Serie A duty with AC Milan.

He watched the Coppa Garino final between AC Milan and Juventus U-13 via FaceTime, connecting with his wife Vanja, who was present at the match alongside their younger children, Ivano and Sofía.

Modrić was in Naples on the same day for a Serie A game at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, where he played the full 90 minutes in a narrow defeat for Milan.
