Ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada are about to begin. In just one week, fans will have the chance to buy tickets for the biggest sporting event in the world. Ahead of the launch, FIFA has released new details about how ticket sales will work.
The Visa presale draw will open on September 10 and run through September 19. To participate, fans must register on FIFA’s official portal with valid identification. The draw will open at 11:00 a.m. ET on September 10 and close at the same time on September 19. Eligible registrants will be randomly selected by FIFA, with results announced starting September 29 via email. Successful applicants will receive details on the date and time they can purchase tickets beginning October 1.
How much will World Cup tickets cost?
Ticket prices will range from $60 in the most accessible categories to $6,730 in the most exclusive sections. Sales will be rolled out in several phases to give fans worldwide a fair chance to secure tickets.
Phases of World Cup ticket sales
- Phase 1: Visa Presale The initial presale phase, available exclusively to Visa customers, runs from September 10–19.
- Phase 2: Early Lottery Registration for the next lottery will be open from October 27–31. Ticket purchases for this phase will take place from mid-November to early December.
- Phase 3: Post-Draw Sales Once the official draw is held and the group stage matchups are confirmed, fans will be able to request tickets for specific matches.
- Final Phase The last round of sales will depend on remaining inventory, giving fans one final chance to purchase tickets through FIFA’s platform.

To combat scalping and unauthorized resales, FIFA has also announced an official resale portal, ensuring fans can safely buy or resell tickets.
