Injuries continue to overshadow the USMNT camp following a dominant opening victory in the 2026 World Cup. Star forward Christian Pulisic was limited during Monday’s training session, once again working individually as he recovers from a calf strain.

The Milan attacker was forced off early during the USMNT’s World Cup debut against Paraguay and remains a major question mark for the upcoming group fixtures.

One of the most spotlighted players on the Stars and Stripes has had difficult days, as he has been unable to train fully and his participation against the Kangaroos is in doubt.DEAN MOUHTAROPOULOS

Update on Pulisic’s status

Following Monday’s session, U.S. Soccer spokesperson Michael Kammarman provided a brief update on the winger’s status, noting that Pulisic was held to a “limited training session, gym work, and work on the field.”

Next up: A high-stakes clash in Seattle

The tournament co-hosts won’t have much time to fret over Pulisic’s fitness. The United States will travel to Seattle next Friday to face Australia in the opening match of the day. The highly anticipated Group D fixture brings together two unbeaten teams looking to assert dominance early in the tournament.
