Iran’s national team faced Belgium on Sunday at Los Angeles Stadium in what was the final game the Asian side will play in California before traveling to Seattle, where it will take on Egypt.

What message did Iran leave in LA locker room?

Following the match, which ended in a scoreless draw, the squad managed by Amir Ghalenoei left a message in the locker room of the home of the Los Angeles Rams.

“From the ancient Persia of thousands of years ago to the civilized Iran of today, the spirit of Iran remains alive and steadfast.

We came to Los Angeles with pride, competed with honor, and leave with dignity.

Thank you, Los Angeles, for your hospitality.

And thank you to every Iranian who gave their heart, voice, and soul for Iran throughout these 180 minutes.

May peace, respect, and friendship prevail among all nations,” the message read.

Iran will now return to Mexico and stay at the training facilities of Club Tijuana, where the team will prepare for its decisive group-stage game against Egypt at Seattle Stadium on Friday, June 26.

After the opening games of the tournament, Iran’s chances of advancing remain in its own hands. Reaching the round of 32 would mark the first time in the nation’s history that it has progressed beyond the group stage at a FIFA World Cup.

If Iran finishes second in its group, it would face the runner-up from Group D, with Australia and Paraguay currently among the potential opponents.
