The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held across North America, is fast approaching. DraftKings, one of the most prominent betting platforms in the United States, has released its projections for which teams are most likely to finish top of each group.

According to the bookmaker, both the Mexico national football team and the United States men’s national soccer team are favourites to lead their respective groups. Both sides offer positive odds: Mexico at +110, and the team coached by Mauricio Pochettino at +140.

Mexico is favoured ahead of the Czech Republic national football team, which carries odds of +240. The South Korea national football team sits third with +350, while the South Africa national soccer team is last with +1200.

In the United States’ group, the hosts are slightly ahead of the Turkey national football team, which has odds of +180 to finish first. The Paraguay national football team follows at +425, while the Australia men’s national soccer team closes the group with +700.

Among the host nations, the only team not favoured to win its group is the Canada men’s national soccer team. The Switzerland national football team is the clear favourite in Group B with odds of −105, followed by Canada and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team, both at +260. The Qatar national football team sits last with +2800.

Elsewhere, both the Spain national football team and the Brazil national football team are strong favourites to win their groups. Spain is listed at −500, far ahead of the Uruguay national football team at +400. Brazil, meanwhile, stands at −475, well ahead of the Morocco national football team at +450.

Other nations favoured to top their groups include the France national football team (−235), the Argentina national football team (−340), the Portugal national football team (−230), the Germany national football team (−340), the Netherlands national football team (−125), the Belgium national football team (−250), and the England national football team (−340).

Aside from the host nations, the other three CONCACAF teams that qualified for the tournament are considered outsiders. According to DraftKings, all three have positive odds to advance to the knockout stage: the Panama national football team (+220), the Curaçao national football team (+800), and the Haiti national football team (+1000).
