What is the latest goal in World Cup history? Belgium win late with Youri Tielemans
A dramatic World Cup round of 32 clash was ended with a controversial penalty kick, the latest goal in tournament history.

Belgium are through to the World Cup round of 16 after a thrilling 3-2 victory over Senegal, capped by a last-gasp Youri Tielemans penalty.
Senegal took charge of the game and raced into a two-goal lead, pushing Belgium to the brink of elimination. With just five minutes of normal time remaining, Belgium struck back through Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans scored soon after to level the scores.
That sensational late comeback pushed the game to extra time, but the real drama was still to come. At the very end of the 30-minute extra time Tielemans was clipped in the Senegal box and, after a long VAR check, Belgium were awarded a penalty.
