Barcelona ask for money for transfers
The Catalan club requested a $240 million loan.

After returning to the 1:1 rule and regaining full freedom to operate in the transfer market, Barcelona has taken another step to increase its financial flexibility as it works to complete the signings on its shortlist.
According to the program Què t’hi jugues on SER Catalunya, the club has requested a $246 million loan (approximately €210 million), backed by future television revenues through a financing structure known as Senior Media Notes. The move is not related to Barcelona’s financial solvency but is instead designed to provide additional liquidity for transfer activity. The club would receive $123 million (approximately €105 million) this July and another $123 million in November.
Barcelona is currently negotiating with Borussia Dortmund to complete the signing of Karim Adeyemi and is also looking to strengthen its attack by adding a center forward.
The loan request should also be viewed with an eye on the future. Barça expects to exceed LaLiga’s Financial Fair Play limit again next season, which could once again lead to player registration restrictions. Delays in the renovation of Spotify Camp Nou have created cash-flow pressures, as the club had anticipated generating revenue sooner from the sale and use of VIP seating. Because this is a financing operation, it will also increase Barcelona’s financial costs.
