Oblak agrees contract extension to remain Rojiblanco until 2021
Atlético confirmed the one-year extension. The Slovenian boasts the best record in LaLiga, and is being tracked by a number of Europe's top clubs.
Jan Oblak will remain rojiblanco until 2021. Atlético officially announced that the keeper has signed a new, one-year contract extension on their club web page. Under the previous arrangement, Oblak's contract would have run to 2020. The Slovenian is one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in Europe - this season, he has conceded just 11 goals making him, as of the moment, the keeper with the safest hands in LaLiga.
"Jan Oblak and our club have reached an agreement for the extension of the Slovenian goalkeeper’s contract until 2021. The current Zamora of the BBVA League has signed this Tuesday his new contract in the Vicente Calderón stadium, by which his relationship with our club extends for another season", Atlético explained in their communiqué.
The 23-year-old international joined Atlético last season from Benfica. In 11 LaLiga games, he has let in just 6 goals, and has kept seven clean sheets. In total, he has made 21 appearances this season in all competitions, conceding 18 goals and kept the team's rivals from scoring any goals at all on 11 occasions.
