“A record? It means nothing if we don't win trophies"

Luis Enrique attended the media after the Sevilla game.

Sevilla: “Sergio Rico had a great game, the whole of the Sevilla team did. I think that's probably the best team performance we've faced so far. They took the lead and forced us to react. I'm satisfied with the result, the performance and everything that happened. We were put to the test by a great rival at Camp Nou, quite possibly the best team we've faced”.

Rival: “They're a very hard-working side, and they can do you damage in many different ways. They¡re prolific in front of goal and have players who can attack spaces. We didn't come up against anything that we didn't know about beforehand, and that gives more importance to this win”.

Record: “Zero - that's what it says to me. If we win trophies, ok, if not, I couldn't care less”.

Having to come from behind seven times now: “It's a statistic which strengthens the team's potential. I didn't think we deserved to be trailing. They created chances when our positioning was poor. I can't believe they have yet to win a match away from home. It's squads who win silverware. It's not a question of firt choice players and substitutes, some players are involved more than others”.

Struggling defending from set-pieces: “We have someone in charge of that which is Unzué and it's an area we have improved on a lot since last season. Defending as one depends a lot on the team's participation as a whole and we knew that going into an important game like this one”.

Piqué: “He was at a high level even before he came back. He's a player who can give, and has given us a lot of things”.

12 point lead over Madrid: “We have Atlético who are eight points behind us, in other words - close. We believed we were capable of retaining the league title since the first week. It's a priority objective for us and we are in a good position. But to become champions we need to win the necessary points”.
