A survey done of the los blancos support saw one of the goalkeepers run away with the vote for Real madrid's number 1 spot.
Despite David de Gea's heroics against Liverpool, the Real Madrid support is firmly in favour of keeping the Costa Rican between the sticks. In a survey conducted by As.com, 79% chose Navas over the Spanish goalkeeper.
The current Real Madrid keeper has probably been the club blanco's player of the season, getting off to a flying start by stopping Ruben castro's free-kick in the first match at the Bernabéu - A match that took place right after the De Gea debacle, when it looked like Navas might be on his way to Manchester United.
The tico's professionalism, dedication and world-class performances have won over the Bernabéu and they don't want to see him go.
Navas into the record books after another solid performance against Roma, on the stroke of the 29th minute he beat Van der Saar's previously held record of unbeaten minutes in the Champions League.
If Florentino Pérez insists on signing De Gea in the summer, then he'll have to do more than getting the fax machine fixed; he'll have to convince the fans who are already turning against him.
