Míchel refuses to resign and will continue until June

Spanish coach Jose Miguel González 'Michel' has ruled out the possibility of handing in his notice at Olympique de Marseille. The 52-year-old has come under increasing pressure after his team slumped to a 5-2 home defeat to Rennes at the Velodrome, where his side haven't won in six months.
"No, I'm not going to resign", Míchel said after the game. "I am not thinking about abandoning my players".
Meanwhile, Olympique de Marseille president Vincent Labrune confirmed that Míchel will see out the season. "With Míchel, we started this together and we will end it together", Labrune told Inforsport.
"I am not in the habit of making changes when the season is in full swing", he continued. "And neither do we have the means to make this club the instution we want it to be. That's not to say I don't expect more from the coach and the players, but the potential is there - the players are better than the result show".
Fans showed their unhappiness with Míchel, displaying banners which reads: "Míchel out" and "Míchel, Real Madrid are waiting for you".

Michel reconoció que "los resultados obtenidos no corresponden a la historia de este club", que acumula siete encuentros de la Ligue 1 consecutivos sin ganar. Peores registros presenta aún en su estadio, donde lleva más de cinco meses sin ganar.
A lo largo de la temporada solo ha sumado dos victorias en los dieciséis partidos que ha disputado como anfitrión en el Velodrome.
Eliminado de la Liga Europa y alejado de la parte alta de la tabla, la Copa de Francia es la única esperanza para salvar la temporada. Está en semifinales, emparejado con el Sochaux.
Sobre los gritos que hubo ayer en el estadio Vélodrome reclamando su propia dimisión, Labrune dijo que los entiende y que no desea ni a su peor enemigo ser presidente del OM.
Con la severa derrota que sufrió ayer, y la serie de siete encuentros consecutivos en la liga francesa sin ganar, el Marsella se encuentra provisionalmente en décima posición de la tabla.
Para explicar la situación del equipo, Labrune insistió en que desde hace cuatro años él viene diciendo que durante mucho tiempo "el OM ha vivido por encima de sus posibilidades" y ahora "no tiene dinero" y "el accionista no tiene medios para invertir en el club".
