In a press conference held on Thursday, Real Madrid keeper Keylor Navas discussed a number of issues related to Saturday’s El Clásico (Saturday 20:30 CET), including the spirit inside the Madrid camp.

Revenge: “We see it as a good chance to win a game. At this moment in time, with what’s to come, it would be a chance to gain more confidence and take a big step towards reaching our objective”.

Never giving up: “We’re all aware that the league is difficult, but if you want to play for Madrid you have to be aware that values come above everything else. You have to give it your all until the end and we can’t let out heads drop. You have to continue with a fighting spirit”.

James: “We don’t doubt his quality and commitment. We’ve all had games when things don’t work out the way you want them to. He has everyone’s support and he knows he’s important to this team and he will help us all in this final stretch”.

Bale’s comments about the unity in the squad: “I don’t think unity was lacking, but I do think the team is more united than before. That comes with results. Often when results slip away problems start. These things are normal in a dressing room. Right now we’re aware that we have a chance of winning the Champions League and we have the league to make improvements and make sure we’re ready. The dream is there, the will is there and the squad is stronger.”

Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez: “For me they’re excellent players. I’ve always had a great deal of respect for our rivals. I can’t say that one is more dangerous than the others. Even a defender is dangerous at a corner. They’re great players, but we have to do things better than they do”.
