Martin Ødegaard will be keen to show his potential to the coach and the rest of the first team squad with views to getting game time.
Regular first teamers Bale and Carvajal were missing as they looked to get back to full fitness ahead of a busy and important few weeks. Zidane confirmed earlier that neither would be risked in the game against Villarreal.
