REAL MADRID-MANCHESTER CITY
Real Madrid's Casemiro and Benzema out of City second leg
They have been left off Zinedine Zidane's 21-man squad to face Man City at the Bernabéu, while CR7 and Kroos return.
Casemiro and Karim Benzema are out of Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final second leg with Manchester City on Wednesday (20:45 CEST).
Real boss Zinedine Zidane confirmed in his pre-match press conference that the pair would not be fit to face City, and has left them out of his 21-man squad for the crunch clash.
Benzema has not recovered sufficiently from a thigh injury affecting his right leg and again trained inside the club's facilities in Valdebebas on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian was once more confined to the gym as he struggles to shake off a hip issue, coupled with a problem in a toe nail, picked up in the win over Real Sociedad.
However, Cristiano Ronaldo returns to the squad having missed Madrid's last three games, with Zidane commenting: "He'll play tomorrow".
Toni Kroos is also back after being rested for the weekend trip to Anoeta, while young striker Borja Mayoral retains his place.
Real Madrid squad to face Manchester City:
Goalkeepers: Keylor Navas, Casilla and Yáñez.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Danilo.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Kovacic, Modric and Isco.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Lucas Vázquez, Jesé and Mayoral.
