Vicente del Bosque announced his provisional pre Euro 2016 squad on Tuesday at the Spanish FA headquarters in Las Rozas.

The omissions of Diego Costa and Fernando Torres were the major surprises on the tournament pre-list of 25 players. The coach will need to drop two of the 25 as the definitive squad of 23 for the competition needs to be submitted on May 31. Lucas Vázquez and Saúl, are the new faces in the "La Roja".

Del Bosque will have to do without a considerable amount of players as both Real Madrid and Atlético are the finalists in the Milan, May 28 Champions League final.. To augment the squad the coach from Salamanca has drafted in 11 U-21 players.

Spain play three friendly games ahead of their Euro 2016 debut against the Czech Republic. They face Bosnia on May 29, South Korea on June 1 and finish with a match against Georgia on June 7.
