Cristiano Ronaldo crashes into Casilla before Champions League
Cristiano Ronaldo limped out of training after this collision with Kiko Casilla leaving madridismo holding its breath before Saturday's Champions league final with Atletico Madrid in Milan.
Just five days before the 2016 Champions League final in Milan alarm bells were ringing at Real Madrid's Valdebebas this morning after Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to retire from today's training session. The team were training at their Valdebebas centre when the Portuguese striker collided with Kiko Casilla during a drill following a push from Carvajal.
The player was immediately attended to by club medical staff but was unable to carry on and was clearly in some degree of distress as he made his way from the pitch to the dressing room following a knock to his thigh.
The high intensity of the Real Madrid training sessions has seen additional pressure on Cristiano and as a result the player sat out the training match last Saturday. The striker is still recovering from the small muscle tear sustained on April 20 and the club are anxious not to push the Portuguese international.
Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was keen to send a message of calm to the Madrid faithful claiming: "He'll be fine, he felt something and sat out last weekend as a precaution but will be ready for Milan. We're on track for Saturday with the players in great shape".
