EURO 2016
Casillas: benched Spain keeper cock-a-hoop after Piqué winner
Despite losing out to David de Gea in the battle for the jersey, the custodian led the celebrations as La Roja beat the Czech Republic.
Update:
Legendary keeper Iker Casillas was overlooked for Spain's Euro 2016 victory over the Czech Republic on Monday as Vicente del Bosque handed the number-one jersey to Manchester United's David de Gea.
But being named among the substitutes certainly didn't stop the former Real Madrid man from leading the celebrations as Gerard Piqué's 86th-minute winner gave the holders all three points in their Group D opener.
Television images showed Casillas leaping up from the bench and jumping for joy after Piqué's late header in Toulouse, with the 35-year-old then enjoying a jubilant group embrace with several team-mates.
