The return of Álvaro Morata will be purely testimonial as the club plan to sell the striker with the Premier League looking like the destination for the 22 year old.
In recent years Madrid have paid out 29.5 million euro in reuniting former youth players with moves back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Kiko Casilla (Espanyol, 6 million euro, 2015)

The goalkeeper spent eight seasons with the Madrid youth set up before moving to Espanyol “B”, he was then sent out on loan to Cádiz and Cartagena before returning and making the step up to the Espanyol first team. After two excellent seasons in the top flight he was given his international debut and moved back to Madrid where he has been Keylor Navas’ understudy.

Lucas Vázquez (Espanyol, 1 M€, 2015)

Vazquez’s move to Real Madrid was a specific request from Rafa Benítez and the player has earned the trust of Zidane who used the player in the final stage oif the season. Vazquez played with Castilla for two seasons before his move to Barcelona.

Casemiro (FC Porto, 7.5M€, 2015)

The player was reunited with Madrid as a result of a buy-back clause being triggered whilst at FC Porto. The midfielder has been a key player under Zidane during 2016.

Cheryshev (Villarreal, end of loan term, 2015)

After a whirlwind season that included a Copa del Rey expulsion for Real Madrid following his playing in the Cadiz game despite being sanctioned, he moved to Valencia and was yesterday sold to Villarreal for a fee of 10 million euro.

The goalkeeper got his opportunity as a result of the fall-out from the Casillas-Mourinho spat at the Bernabeu. During his first spell at the club he only played in 11 games with the first team and had a more successful return, winning the Décima and a Copa del Rey title.

Callejón (Espanyol, 5 M€, 2011)
