Spain boss Vicente del Bosque has confirmed in a radio interview that he is to leave his position after eight years in charge of the team.
"I have no intention of continuing"
"However the European Championships went, I had no doubts about my future," he explained. "My intention is to see out my contract until 31 July."
The 65-year-old added that the job would be his last in management. "I won't carry on as a coach," he declared.
World Cup and European Championship wins
Del Bosque took over from Luis Aragonés in 2008, leading La Roja to victory at the 2010 World Cup and a successful defence of their European title in 2012.
But those triumphs were followed by an ignominious group-stage exit at the 2014 World Cup, before Spain were knocked out by Italy in the last 16 of Euro 2016.
