Nani: “Cristiano told me I was coming to a great club”
DAVID GONZALEZDIARIO AS

How do you feel?

It’s a very special day for me and I’m happy to be here. I had the chance to wander around the city and it’s really beautiful. I feel good and it’s a special time. Hopefully I can be a key part of the club and help them to win trophies.

What do you think is expected of you?

I feel that the fans are waiting for me and they are happy I’ve come here. As players, these are the times that are important, feeling the love of the fans. Hopefully I can bring them happy times and contribute to their dreams. Hopefully the club will have happy times ahead.

Did your performances at the Euros affect this move?

I’m really happy that I could contribute at the Euros and in the end we came away champions. Many people think I’m going to relax, but that’s not in my mind. I come here with a lot of ambitions because I’m coming to a big club, with a great stadium and fantastic fans.

What’s your dream after the Euros?

My dream is to be happy at Valencia because it’s a huge club that is always fighting at the top. I felt that Valencia was the best club because it has huge global potential. Cristiano congratulated me and told me that Valencia was a great club in Spain and that I was going to fit into La Liga.

How long do you think you need to adapt to LaLiga?

It’s something that takes time. I don’t think it will be too complicated because the style of play is similar to Portugal. It’s technical and can be very fast.

How is the Nani at Manchester United different from the Nani at Valencia?

Experience. But I have the same ambition, the same desire as I’ve always had. I play to win every game.
