Sevilla and Atlético close to Gameiro deal: €30M plus Vietto
The French player wants to leave and if his club Sevilla are going to lose him then they are looking to get as much from the deal as possible including a new striker.
Sevilla and Atletico Madrid are still negotiating their positions for the potential sale of Kevin Gameiro and now we know of the values being discussed to make it happen. Sevilla had previously hinted that they would not move from the contractual buy-out of 40 million euros, however, they are being pressed to accept a variation of this with a cash plus player agreement an option.
According to RadioSevilla, the Andalucian club has now asked Atlético Madrid for 30 million euros plus five million in add-on payments depending on objectives reached under the leadership of Diego Simeone. In addition, the transfer (loan with option to buy) of Luciano Vietto in the opposite direction - giving immediate cover in the forward line - is seen as a key part of any deal. If this was to be accepted, it could leave Barcelona without either of their two striking targets as they have shown clear interest in both Gameiro and Vietto to support Messi, Neymar and Suarez.
Gameiro, meanwhile, was not included in yesterday's friendly for Sampaoli's men, and there was no suggestion that he'd suffered any injury. Everything indicates that the Frenchman has already made up his mind to leave and now just needs his owners to do their bit.
