The signing of Gameiro by Atlético Madrid has shut the door on Diego Costa returning to the Manzanzares from Chelsea, where he's currently under contract. The Brazilian born Spaniard had been so desperate to come back to Atleti he called Simeone to plead with him to wait.
But Atlético have signed Gameiro and with that ends the chances of Diego Costa returning to the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos asks Costa about his situation
Yesterday after the Real Madrid - Chelsea match, where Zidane's men recorded a 3-2 win, Diego Costa bumped into Ramos. The Real Madrid defender asked the striker what was happening with his move to Atlético, and Costa explained he couldn't make the move because Simeone had signed Gameiro... watch the reaction from Ramos on the video.
