Summer transfer market live: Wednesday 31/08/2016

The summer transfer window 2016 is now firmly closed, after a frenetic day of transfer activity across Europe. David Luiz returned to Chelsea, Sissoko moved to Tottenham in a very last minute deal, Garay joined Valencia and surprisingly, Álvaro Arbeloa headed off to West Ham. Even Mourinho at Manchester United got in on the action, nabbing Atlético Madrid's chief scout.  

In deals that didn't go through, Isco stayed at Real Madrid after feverish speculation saw him moving back to Málaga.
