The field at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is down to its final five teams, with three semifinalists already confirmed.

The first semifinal is set, as France will face Spain for a place in the World Cup final. Spain advanced by defeating Belgium 2-1, while Kylian Mbappé’s France earned a convincing 2-0 victory over Morocco.

On the other side of the bracket, England is also through to the semifinals. Jude Bellingham and company ended Erling Haaland’s dream World Cup run with a 2-1 victory over Norway and now await the winner of Argentina vs. Switzerland.

Four Europeans and one South American

With Morocco, Belgium and Norway eliminated, only five nations remain in contention for the World Cup title. Europe has four teams still alive, South America is represented only by Argentina, while Africa and Concacaf have no remaining representatives.
