Isco set to leave, if the fax machine allows it

We’ll never know what would have happened last season if, one year ago, the fax over David De Gea’s transfer to Real Madrid had gone through on time and if Keylor Navas, with a foot on the plane to Manchester and tears in his eyes, would have changed his Madrid dream for one at United under Van Gaal. What we do know is that, in the end, Keylor’s performances last season were simply spectacular. I would even dare say unbeatable.

Isco off, pending the fax...

Tonight, it’s more than probable that Isco, the most important talent of the Real Madrid squad, will – if the fax machine is working – leave the Bernabéu. Isco has seen it straight: he thinks the best solution this season is to leave Los Blancos. It’s not out of spite, because he’s only contemplating going on loan, but he knows his return to stardom will only happen by playing every weekend and returning to shine in the Champions League.

He needs to regenerate 

Last season passed him by and meant that he missed out on the Euros with Spain. And now, he knows that Asensio, Morata, Kovacic and James are in front of him. He needs to regenerate. Owing to this, the interest of Tottenham, after having brushed off the advances of Juventus and Milan, has made his ears perk up. However, old club and home city Málaga – where he was idolised – also remains an undeniable attraction (despite not offering Champions League football). We’ll find out today where Isco end up…
