Aubameyang rejected PSG and still dreams of Real Madrid
The striker says he rejected an offer from the Ligue 1 champions this summer because the club didn't go about things in the right way.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of the most sought-after strikers in world football. And for good reason; the Dortmund man has scored 5 goals and provided 2 assists in just 5 games so far this season.
PSG tried to sign Aubameyang this summer
Speaking with French outlet RMC Sport this week, the Gabonese forward revealed that PSG were keen on securing his services this summer but that they didn’t go about things the right way.
“PSG were told to speak with my father [also his agent],” he said. “But they bypassed him and tried to speak directly with the club who, inevitably, closed the door on negotiations.”
Dortmund's asking price was too high
The player also said that PSG were unwilling to pay Dortmund’s asking price. “The figure that PSG were willing to pay was far lower than Dortmund expected, so talks quickly stopped," he said.
Aubameyang still dreams of playing for Real Madrid
Aubameyang has never hidden his desire to play for Real Madrid and added that he still harbours hope of signing with the 11-time European Cup winners: “I’m not the sort of person to force things. Playing for Real Madrid has always been my dream. If that were to come true one day I would be very happy. But if not, life goes on.”
