Luis Enrique speaks ahead of Monchengladbach game

Barcelona coach Luis Enrique spoke in his pre-match press conference before Wednesday's Champions League match against Borussia Monchengladbach (20:45 CEST) at Borussia Park.

Ter Stegen returning home

This will be a return home for goalkeeper Ter Stegen; he joined Barcelona from Monchengladbach for 12 million euros in 2014, but asked about his keeper's trip home Luis Enrique showed no emotions: "It's no big deal. It won't change anything because a player is returning home. It'll be nice for him, but for us it will change nothing".

Ter Stegen improvements

Asked about improvements in Ter Stegen's performances Luis Enrique said he thought that was the case: "I'd like to think so. He's learnt the language. He's good at it. He's been improving his performances and he needs to keep doing that. That's the aim of every professional".

"Everyone needs confidence and I'll decide what to do on the basis of what the team needs. What the press says won't influence me. In fact, don't care a jot what the press says".

Luis Enrique demands concentration

The Barcelona coach showed his concern about his German rivals, and said at home they had "incredible statistics. We need to focus on everything". "They are a tough rival, they play with high pressure, we need to be well positioned", he continued.

"If they show off their abilities, we'll suffer", said Luis Enrique before concluding that his Barça side would need to "play incredibly well to beat them".
