The Real Madrid midfielder says that talk of a 'crisis' at the club is overblown and that the squad won't disappoint as the season goes on.

Casemiro went off injured just 20 minutes into Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Espanyol last month. Since that day, Zidane’s side have failed to win a single game, prompting talk of a ‘crisis’ at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Brazilian spoke with Real Madrid TV this week, discussing his return from injury, whether or not there really is a ‘crisis’ at Real Madrid and his international career.

Casemiro focused on coming back strong

How is your recovery coming along?

“The challenge was a tough one and the injury was serious, but I’m over it. I’m working hard to get back to the form I was in and to come back as soon as possible. Honestly, not being able to play and to help the team hurts me more than the injury. I’m angry because I just want to be out on the pitch with my teammates.”

Do you think your teammates miss you out on the pitch?

“I think I’m as important as anyone else on the team but without my teammates I’m nothing. Everyone needs to be valued.”

Don't forget we won the Champions League!

How would you assess the season so far?

“I have good feelings. We’re level at the top, we’re in a good position in the Champions League. You can’t forget that this team won the Champions League. The fans should believe in us, we won the Champions League. This is a strong squad and we won’t disappoint.”

How do you feel about being part of the Brazil set-up?

“Playing for Brazil and Real Madrid makes me proud. It’s a dream to play for my country and for Real Madrid. I just want to enjoy the opportunity.”
