Initial reports suggested that the injury sustained by Sergio Ramos last night in Shkoder will see the Real Madrid defender out of action for at least six weeks.
His club ran additional tests on the player's knee today and the diagnosis from the Real Madrid medical team stared: Following tests carried out today on our player Sergio Ramos at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a grade 2 sprain of the medial collateral knee ligament in the left knee. His recovery will continue to be assessed.
Ramos will be out of action for at least the next four league games and the forthcoming Champions League double header against Polish champions Legia Warsaw.
Ramos is alos likely to miss the Spanish national team's next World Cup qualifier as they entertain Macedonia in Granada on November 12th followed by a friendly away to England at Wembley on Tuesday November 15.
The defender from Camas will have be touch and go for be fit for the Madrid derby which takes place at the Vicente Calderón on Saturday/Sunday November 19/20 but should be match fit for El Clasico as his Real Madrid team visit Camp Nou in the first week of December.
