A street named Di Stéfano

AS English told you recently that the city of Madrid would honour one of the all-time Bernabéu greats by naming a street after the man. Well, yesterday that became official as the agreement with the council was published in the town hall bulletin. For those looking to visit, the street in question will be between those of Félix Candela and Julio Cano Lasso. Here is a map to help you find it:

Los Blancos "open door" policy for Chicharito

Real Madrid directors Manuel Cerezo and Santiago Aguado have been speaking openly about their desire to see the Mexican return to the Spanish capital after being a bit-part player during the 2014-15 season. In an interview with Fox Sports Aguado was asked about the Leverkusen striker:

"Yes, I'd like to see Chicharito back at Real Madrid as we feel that he is an excellent player".

1,637 days and not counting

Last night's penalty given away to Legia Warsaw was the first Champions League spot kick to be awarded against Real Madrid at the Bernabéu in almost four and a half years. The one prior to Danilo's foul was against Bayern Munich on April 25, 2012 in an enthralling semi-final.

Own goal delight for Guti's kids

While the first team laid on a dominant display against their Polish visitors, in the equivalent Uefa Youth League, Madrid's potential stars of the future collected all three points in a much tighter game. Ex-Bernabéu star Guti, who now coaches the kids, watched as twice his boys lost a lead only to be saved by a 76th minute own goal to win the game for them 3-2. Those points keep the young whites top of Group F on seven points at the half-way stage, three ahead of Dortmund.
