Ryanair poke fun at sacked De Boer: "Time to fly to Holland"

The Irish airline has a reputation for mocking high-profile managers when they lose their jobs in order to promote their low-cost flights. Frank De Boer is their latest victim!

Frank de Boer was sacked as Inter Milan coach on Tuesday morning after just 85 days in charge of the Italian club.

The coach – who leaves Inter 12th in the Serie A table after four defeats in five league games – was heavily linked with vacancies at Premier League clubs Everton and Southampton in the summer.

However the former Dutch international’s next destination, until he finds another club at least, will likely be back home to his native Netherlands.

With that in mind, low-cost air service Ryanair were quick to poke fun at De Boer’s misfortune, posting a tongue in cheek Tweet through their official Italian Twitter account shortly before his sacking was made official.

"Time to fly to Holland"

“Time to fly to Holland. Fly from Bergamo to Eindhoven for only €12.74,” said the Irish company’s tweet (translated from Italian).

Ryanair have a history of such publicity stunts when high-profile managers lose their jobs, including a similarly mocking Tweet posted last season which coincided with Gary Neville’s departure form Valencia.
