Cavani injury sees PSG on striker hunt with Jesé out of the picture
PSG are keen to sign another forward who could take Cavani's place if he's out injured. Striker Jesé, who came in from Real Madrid, hasn't convinced at the French club.PSG vs Bayern Munich
PSG are on the hunt for a striker who could take Edison Cavani's place if he is out injured. The Uruguayan was hurt against Rennes in PSG's recent league match, setting off the alarm bells at the French club. And that's because Jesé, the striker PSG signed in the summer for 25 million euros from Real Madrid, doesn't seem to now form part of the club's plans.
Jesé not met expectations at PSG
Jesé hasn't met the expectations of PSG and he's hardly played since arriving. In total he's only been on the pitch for 197 minutes in six games in Ligue 1, and a total of 11 minutes in two Champions League matches. He's yet to score.
Back in September, PSG coach Unai Emery backed Jesé, saying he just needed time to adapt, but as time has gone on the level of confidence that the Spanish forward can make an impact has dropped.
PSG actively in the market for a striker
PSG are therefore apparently actively scouting the market for a replacement, according to the French press. PSG club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi however denied the rumours several days ago: "We don't need another striker", he claimed.
