United fans mercilessly mock Eric Dier's revenge threat to Herrera
Spurs midfielder Eric Dier said that he would see Ander Herrera soon after accusing the Manchester United man of elbowing him during the England v Spain friendly. Cue the jeers
Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to mock England and Spurs player Eric Dier after he threatened Red Devils midfielder Ander Herrera.
"I'll see him soon"
Dier accused Herrera of elbowing him in the face during the England versus Spain friendly on Tuesday night, and said menacingly after the game that he would “see him soon”.
“I think it’s pretty clear what he did and I can feel it on my cheek now,” fumed Dier. “I’ve made a pass and it was a long time afterwards [that] he’s elbowed me in the face, and I just can’t see why. For me, it’s just ridiculous.!
On whether he wanted an apology, Dier said: “I don’t need him to apologise. I’ll see him soon.”
All in his head?
However United fans were quick to jump on social media to make fun of Dier’s apparent threat, with some suggesting that he wouldn’t dare approach Herrera with Zlatan Ibrahimovic or around, or that – just like Spurs’ title challenge – the elbow incident was all in his head. Ouch.
