Enrique Cáceres will referee Real Madrid vs Club América

The official has been in charge of four games in the South American qualification phase for World Cup 2018 and was involved in the Copa América Centenario.

The man for the semi

The Paraguayan referee Enrique Cáceres has been appointed by Fifa as the referee for the Club World Cup semi-final between Real Madrid and Club América which will take place at 11:30am CET on Thursday 15 December. The European Champions enter the competition at this stage hoping to maintain their record-breaking unbeaten run and add another trophy to the cabinet.

Cáceres will be assisted by his compatriots, Eduardo Cardozo and Juan Zorrilla who will run either line. The fourth official will be Nawaf Shukralla, from Bahrain.

South American experience

The 42-year old Paraguayan has been in charge of four games in the World Cup Russia 2018 qualification campaign for South America. In June he was also the man in the middle for the semi-final of the Copa América Centenario 2016 between the United States against Argentina.
