Xavi Hernández does not agree with the Ballon d'Or being awarded to Real Madrid and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview with TV3 in Qatar, the ex-Barça player believes that the elements taken into consideration by those who voted did not compare the individual merits of players.
"Titles took precedence, while there are other years in which it is not like this and they value the best player in the world. Leo Messi is the best of all in spite of the titles that the other player has one," said Xavi in reference to the Champions League and European Championships won by Madrid's number seven.

This is not the first time that the diminutive midfielder has spoken out about the battle for superiority between Cristiano and Messi which got a fiesty response from the Madrid player before. In a recent interview, he also spoke about Ronaldo's tax allegations.
