Real Madrid - Kashima Antlers, Club World Cup Final 2016
Real Madrid want to win the Club World Cup in Japan, which would give them three trophies during 2016. Cristiano Ronaldo, who was named Ballon d'Or winner for the fourth time, on Monday night, has made his intentions clear. He wants to win his second CLub World Cup, having won his first with the club in 2014.
Not in Japan for a holiday
"We didn't come on holidays, we are here to win the Club World Cup. It is a trophy that signifies much and we want to win the competition to finish off the year in the best possible way," he said.
The Portuguese star knows it would be a great climax to a year in which they won the Champions League and the UEFA Supercup. They have also eclipsed the previous Real Madrid unbeaten record when they beat Deportivo la Coruña last Saturday to make it 35 unbeaten under Zinedine Zidane.
Successful year for Ronaldo
For Ronaldo, it will cap off a year in which he won the Champions League, Euro 2016, the UEFa Super Cup and the Ballon d'Or and Ronaldo said: "Real Madrid's fans are the best, and we want to win the Club World Cup and share one more title with all of the Madridistas."
