Copa del Rey draw: Madrid, Barça and Atletico avoid each other
Barcelona and Real Madrid were drawn with Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo, respectively, with Atletico-Eibar and Alcorcon-Alaves completing the quarter-final line-up.
Copa del Rey: Quarter final draw
The draw was completed for the quarter final of the 2016/17 Copa del Rey today at the Spanish FA and despite not throwing up any regional derbies or a "El Clásico" the last eight does present some interesting fixtures. The dates and kick-off times of the matches will be confirmed during the course of the afternoon after the organising committee have met with television rights owners.

Will Friday the 13th prove to be lucky for some of the sides remaining in the 2016/17 Copa del Rey as eight teams await their fate ahead of the quarter final draw.
Current holders FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Alaves, Atletico Madrid, Eibar and second division outfit Alcorcon are all in the hat ahead of the midday draw.
A Madrid derby, cup El Clasico showdown, Basque derby are all on the cards as the knockout tournament gets down to the business end of events.
Today's draw is a straight with no seeds and no compensation for lowers ranked teams as per precious rounds.
Quarter final games will take place next Wednesday (Jan 18) and Thursday (Jan 19) with only a Barça-Atletico tie offering the possibility of a Tuesday game. Return legs will take place the following week.
