Real Madrid in brief: Celta, referee, injuries, James value
With a big performance required in Vigo from Zidane's men, we look at some of the news surrounding the club ahead of the Copa del Rey quarter final second leg.
Ahead of tonight's Copa del Rey quarter final second leg, we round up the latest news surrounding Real Madrid, the players and their opposition on the night, Celta Vigo.
Seven out for the Copa
Zidane will have to do without seven first-team players for the game tonight in Vigo. Bale, Varane, Pepe, Marcelo, James, Carvajal and Modric all out injured wiht the onus on the rest of the selected squad to turn around a 1-2 deficit.
Experience door opens
With so many players missing, tonight could be the chance for Enzo Zidane and Achraf to grab a headline or two. They have both been included in the travelling squad of 19 players although more for experience and are unlikely to see any pitch time.
Copa del Rey whistle-blower
The referee for tonight's game will be José María Sánchez Martínez. The man from Murcia has overseen a draw and a loss for Celta before as well as three victories and a draw for Madrid.
Losing a third of yourself
Recent analysis of Transfermarkt, the website specialising in keeping track of players' values among other elements, has shown a marked drop in that of James Rodriguez. In the last 12 months his valuation has fallen from 80 million euros to 50 million. Even with the trophy haul that Cristiano Ronaldo had in 2016, he too has seen his perceived value fall.
